Edward Cotter
Managing Partner

Planning, Engineering and Construction

ECotter@gne-usa.com | Phone: 860.625.1908

In 2018, after nearly 20 years working in design and construction management roles for large commercial, institutional, and industrial clients such as University of Connecticut, Jackson Labs, and Electric Boat, Ed made the switch to the ownership side when joining Nordic Aquafarms, Inc, a multi-national company focused on developing and operating land-based aquaculture projects.  In the role of SVP of Projects, Ed successfully led the engineering team to obtain all permits for two $500M projects in two states.  Permitting in ME was especially challenging as the project is one of the largest endeavors to be permitted in the State, and the first of its kind requiring a lengthy review and approval process at all levels.  Both projects included design and construction partners and have achieved early schematic design level and budget certainty. Ed has provided scope, budget, and schedule analysis and adjustments over the life of the projects, informing company leadership of accurate and updated risk analysis as the projects developed.  Ed is a Belfast, ME resident and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering.
